12/9/99 Per Bruce Lee, Caroline was supposedly from Connecticut and had 4 other daughters by other men... she was breeded out. These dtrs, Emma ULN, Florence Martin (lived in Evanston, Cook, IL), Anna McCreary, and one other. Caroline was supposedly Black and native. I’m very dubious about all these facts.

4/5/00 Further research has led me to believe that Caroline was, in fact, Black and native. “Black Roots in Southeastern Connecticut, 1650-1900.” by Barbara W. Brown and James M. Rose, lists one Pricilla Cheseborough, b. 1794, married David F. Geer in 1823. Pricilla is the daughter of Native American Mingo Cheseborough and Lucretia Buck. More research is required to prove that Pricilla is Caroline’s mother, but I am extremely confident that this is the correct bloodline.

1900 US Census (NJ, Monmouth Co, Middletown Twp, ED 132, sh 19A, ln 28), Caroline, B, 75 (b. Jun 1824, CT), listed as widow, both parents born CT. Living with her, Ida Morris (dtr), B, 30 (b. Sep 1869, NJ), Ida’s husband, Carter Morris, B, 29 (b. Oct 1870 NY), both parents b. VA. They had been married less than a year and Ida had no children. Also living with them, Emma Patterson, B, 38 (b. Dec 1861 NJ), listed as widow. Like Ida, her father b. NJ, mother b. CT.

1900 Obituary dtd Wednesday, Nov 7. 1900, Red Bank Register (from www.distantcousin.com/obits/nj/1900/1900/nov/guy_mrs_carolline_f.html) reads as follows: “Mrs. Caroline F.
