Caroline Dickins was baptised on 30th July 1815 at Astwick in Bedfordshire, daughter of Mary Dickins, formerly Lanceter, and her husband William Dickins, a farmer.

By 1851 Caroline was living at Walsworth in the parish of Hitchin, a few miles south of Astwick. She was married at Hitchin on 3rd February 1851 to an agricultural labourer called William Worbey. He was about ten years younger than her.

Caroline and William went on to have three sons together between 1851 and 1856. Two of them were given Caroline's mother's maiden name as a middle name.

The 1851 and 1861 censuses both find Caroline and William living at Walsworth. By 1871 they were living at Squires Cottages in Hitchin.

William died in 1874, aged 48. Caroline appears in the 1881 census living with one of her sons at Leicester Cottages in Hitchin.

Caroline died in 1886, aged about 71.
