Obituary

Betty Lou Tippetts passed away peacefully on Feb. 13, 2018 in Lehi, Utah. Betty was born Feb 23, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Eleanor and Clarence Norris and enjoyed a happy childhood with her parents, brothers, and extended family.

Betty married Blaine Tippetts on Feb 18, 1955 in Chicago, IL. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple. They are the parents of Thomas (Brenda), Laura (Brent) Tolman, Susan Ballard, and Clarence. Blaine and Betty have lived in Orem since moving from Chicago in the early 1970s.

Betty worked hard all her life including employment with the Univ. of Chicago, Brunswick, and BYU. Betty was especially grateful for the opportunity to both work and serve at BYU. She served faithfully in a variety of callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and particularly enjoyed assisting with music.

Betty and Blaine have enjoyed raising and showing poodles, growing roses, fishing, boating, and family activities.

Survived by Blaine, children Laura, Susan, Clarence, numerous grandchildren / great grandchildren, and brother Tom Norris. Preceded in death by her parents, son Tom, brother Edward, and grandsons Chase Petersen and Jeffrey Tippetts.

A viewing will be held Tue Feb 20th from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.), South Jordan, UT. A short memorial service will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home at 1PM followed by interment in the South Jordan City Cemetery. Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com
