Bethia Woodam, d/o John and Mary (---) Woodam, b. "1 22 1663" [22 Mar 1663/4] Ipswich, MA.
It is believed that Ipswich was cited because it was the last known location of John Wooden (when he died 29 May 1678). But the birth mostly likely took place in Haverhill, though it is not found in the records there. Source:Vital records of Haverhill, Massachusetts, to the end of the year 1849, p. 1:324, John "Wooddin" had daughter Mary born in Haverhill on 6 Mar 1652/53. Then, Source:Records of the First Church in Beverly, Massachusetts, 1667-1772 (228964), p. 24, shows John "Wooden" admitted "into this Church by dismission from Haverhill Church". This suggests he resided there in the period when Bethiah's birth is said to have occurred.
The will of her husband Samuel Gaskill mentions his brother-in-law John Wooden, Jr. Quotes a release by "Bethiah Gaskill, of Salem, widow, and daughter of John Woodin formerly of Haverhill, mason and bricklayer, dec'd.".
