Daughter of Amos and Melinda Elizabeth Buzzard, m. Sept. 16, 1919 to George Henry Kifer.
Mrs. Bertha Irene Kifer, 70, of Irwin RD3, died at 8:50 p.m. Saturday (November 23, 1968) in the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital, Jeannette. Born July 24, 1898 in North Huntingdon Township, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Melinda Buzzard.
She wasa member of the Brush Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Women's Missionary Society of the Church, and the Suburban Women's club and the Town and Country Homemakers, both of Irwin.
She is survived by her husband, George H. Kifer, and eight children, Sara, Maria, Robert G., Ray D., Clay E. and Flora B., all of Irwin RD 3, Mrs. Joseph (Gladys) Sakos of Jeannette, Mrs. Clarnece (Dorothy) Hall of Saltsburg, and Larry H. of Manor. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren' a brother, C. Elliot Buzzard of Irwin RD 3, and two sisters, Susan A.M. Buzzard of Irwin RD 3 and Mrs. May Crawford of Zelienople, Pa.
Friends are being received from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. daily at the Wade E. Tompkins Funeral Home, Adamsburg. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Brush Creek Lutheran Church with the Rev. Russell L. McCullough, B. D., officiating. Interment will follow in Brush Creek Memorial. Wade E. Tompkins, Adamsburg, funeral director in charge.
