    Att a Mo Meeting held at William Porter's Jun. the 9th day of the 4th mo 1700.
    ... Benjamin Woodson and Sarah Porter did also at this meeting propose their intentions of marriage, the first time.

    Att a Mo Meeting held at Wm Porter Jun the 12th day of the 5th mo 1700.
    The persons appointed to enquire into the clearness of Benja Woodson and Sarah Porter make --- to this meeting that satisfied the clear from all other --- of --- proceed in their aforesaid intentions who did in this meeting publish themselves the --- twice according to the carefull order of friends.

    This meeting adjourned till it's aforesaid time.

    Here followeth a copy of Benja Woodson marriage certificate which is as followeth.

    Whereas Benjamin Woodson son of Robt Woodson of the County of Henrico and Sarah Porter daughter of Wm Porter Jnr of the same County have proposed their intentions of marriage before two several meetings of the people --- called Quakers who after due inquiry of their claim and it apering to them that the relations of the sd Benja and Sarah were consenting to their marriage did give consent that the parties should accomplish their sd intention. We therefore which names are underwritten do certifie all whome it may concern that the sd Benja Woodson and the sd Sarah Porter did at the meeting house of the aforesd people in the reported county the 25th day of the 5th mo 1700 then and there take each other there for husband and wife, he the sd Benja Woodson and taking her the sd Sarah Porter by the hand and declaring that in the presence of the Lord and before this congregation of people - I Benjamin take Sarah Porter to be my wife promising to be a true and loving husband to her till death part us and the sd Sarah Porter then and there declaring that in the presence of the Lord and before this congregation of people I Sarah Porter take Benjamin Woodson to be my husband promising to be a true and faithful wife to him till death us part and for the confirmation thereof the sd Benja and Sarah did set to their hands --- whose names are said so written are witnesses:
