At about 1912, when Benjamin was about 64 he moved from Hartford to a Masonic Home in Wellingford, Conn. Benjamin was a member of the local Townshend Masonic Lodge and the Lodge in Hartford, Conn. He worked at one time in a clothing store in Hartford, Conn. At the time of Benjamin's father, William, death, he was living on the home farm in Townshend, VT.
