Benjamin F. Aley, son of Tilghman and Martha Alice (Conklin) Aley was born on 17 January 1884. He grew up in Cedar Vale, Kansas. He was responsible for raising the younger children after the death of his parents Benjamin married twice. He first married Flossie Thompson, daughter of Stephen Mathias and Madelsa Jane (Neptune) Thompson. They were married in Cedar Vale (Chatauqua County), Kansas on 31 January 1907. Flossie was born on 2 September 1886 in Cedar Vale. Benjamin and Flossie moved to New Mexico due to Flossie’s tuberculosis. She died in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 21 December 1913. Benjamin then returned to Cedar Vale where he soon married Irene Sheldon, daughter of William and Julia Sheldon. Irene was born on 10 April 1899 and died on 8 January 1968. Benjamin and Irene are buried at North Cedar Creek Cemetery in Cedar Vale.
