The Estate of Benjamin Abell

"Court held in New London, June 6, 1699, the inventory of the estate of Benjamin Abell of Norwich deceased was exhibited, proved, accepted and ordered to be recorded. The Court granted administration to the widow and also distributed to her one-third part of the movable estate forever, and one-third part of the real estate during her natural life; to son Benjamin a double portion at twenty-one, and to six daughters equal portions at the age of eighteen years or day of marriage. By request of the widow, Joshua Abell [brother of the deceased] and John Baldwin were appointed overseers."[2]
