    Name: Capt. Benjamin Abbott
    Place: Hollis
Date of Death: Jan 5th 1776
    Age: 46
[This is also reported in History of Hollis, p. 363, so probably is a correct transcription of the town records. However, this age at death would imply a birth in 1730, to late for a person who married in 1747 and had children in 1748 as is recorded in Andover. The death date reported in Essex Antiquarian would however, make 46 be an accurate age at birth given his known birth and time of marriage, and so is probably correct. Also consider that the wife remarried in 1775.]

  4.   There is a probate record from 1771 in Middlesex County, Massachusetts for Benjamin Abbot (of Hollis) who also owned property in Pepperrell at the time of his death. This would support the 1770 death date for Benjamin. In that probate record, widow Elizabeth Abbot of Hollis asks that another administrator be appointed due to her inability to travel/manage dealing with the property in Massachusetts. A 23-acre lot was set aside to her as her widow's portion.
