Barbara was only 19 when she married Charles Frederick and became stepmother to his two children (aged 6 and 1 year old), and 27 when he died (when their two sons were aged 5 and 7 years old). In April 1910 she is listed as arriving in Boston, Mass. (S2) She became a US citizen in 1917. In 1920 she was living in Portland, Oregon.
