    In the name of God Amen The Fower and twentith day of December Anno Domini one thousand six hundred fortye and one, Annoq[ue] Regni Caroli [] decimo septimo. I Dame Adria Byne Relicte of Sir John Byne Knighte deceased, beinge sicke in bodie but of perfect mynde and remembrance, thankes bee to God therefore, Doe make and ordaine this my present and last will and testament com̄ending and com̄ittinge my sowle into the hands of Allmighty God my maker and to Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer, by whose p[as]sione deathe and bloud sheddinge I doe firmely hope to bee saved. And my body to bee buried in the Charnell of the parrishe churche of Washington next to my Late husband sir Jo: Byne Impr: I give to the poore people of Washington five pounds. Item I give to every one of my grandchildren five pounds a peece, to bee paid to them by my executor, within one yeare after my decease. Item I give to my eldest sonne Edmond Byne, the tenne pounds which hee oweth mee; and the eighteene pound which will bee due to mee for the keepeing of his sister Elizabeth Byne, Item I give to my sonne Edmonds wife, my rope of pearle and my purple velvett petticoate, with the purple velvett belongine to it, Item I give to my goddaughter and grandchild Adria Byne, my border of pearle, and three wroughte pillow beares and two wroughte cushion cloathes and one suite of damaske to bee delivered her att the age of eighteene yeares or daye of marriage which shall first happen, Item I give to eache of my sonne John Bynes children, a suite of damaske or diaper soe fawr as it will extend, Item I give to my daughter Elizabeth my weddeinge ringe, Item I give to my sister Bridger my watche. Item I give to my goddaughter Adria Bridger, my silver warmeinge dissh, Item I give to my grandchild Henry Byne three peeces of plate (vizt) a Silver Tankard, a parcell guilte bowle with a cover, and a parcell guilte dishe, to bee delivered him att his age of one and twentye yeares, if my daughter Elizabeth shallbe then dead. Item I give to my daughter in law Muschampe, my gold ringe with a stone in it, Item I give to my old servant Robert Barker fortye shillinges, Item I give to Tho: Cayne, twentye shillinges. Item I give to my servant Sarah Coles, my blacke mourninge Coate, and my twoe under redd petticotes, with my ordinary weareinge wastcoates, except my twoe best. Item I give to my servant Jo: Osborne Twentye Shillinges. Item all the rest and residue of my goods chattells, readie money, plate house hold stuffe debts, and [] I will give and bequeathe, to my younger sonne John Byne, whome I doe make the whole and sole Executor of this my Last will and testament, Moreover I doe will give and bequeath to him my said sonne John Byne, all and singuler my moyetie, of and in all those my messuage lands tenements and hereditamts whatsoever lyeinge and beinge in the parrishe of Lymesfeild in the Countie of Surrey, And all other my Lands tenemts and hereditamts whatsoever in Lymesfeild Crowhurst and Oxsted or elsewhere in the said Countie of Surrey To have and to hold to him my said sonne John Byne and to the heyres of his bodye Lawfully begotten and to bee begotten, and for wante of such yssue, to his righte heires forever, In wittnes, whereof to this my p[re]sent and Last will and testament in writeinge.
