Proudfoot Genealogy Book lists her birth date as 10 Oct 1884 at New Virgina, Warren, IA. In Des Moines, IA Tribune newspaper of Wed. 18 Aug 1965, pg 25 col. 8: "Rites for Mrs. Roy. Services for Mrs. Lee Roy, 80, of 2203 Littell Ave., will be at 1:30 pm Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in the cemetery at New Virginia. Mrs. Roy died of a heart attack Tuesday at the Hutchinson Nursing Home, 721 16th St after a two year illness. Born at New Virginia, she has lived in Des Moines 50 years. Her husband, two sons, Glenn and Lee J. of Des Moines, two brothers, Lester Braucht of Des Moines and P.G. Braucht of Denver, CO; two sisters, Mrs. Loma Kruse of Des Moines and Mrs. Mona Crouch of Denver; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren". In the Warren County, Iowa History book of 1987, pg 895 (Roy Family #882) her surname is spelled Brauch (another example of family surname variant spellings).
