"Arthur Preston Wardwell, who had been residing with his daughter, Mrs. Edna Clements, of 66 Harris Avenue, for the past several years, died last night at the Langlin Memorial private hospital, after a brief illness, age 86 years, 4 months and six days. Besides his daughter, with whom he made his home, he is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Alice W. Karl of Rockland, Me.; a son, A. Walter Wardwell of Charlestown; one sister, Mrs. Harriet Levansaler of Cambridge; a brother George S. Wardwell of East Weymouth; four granddaughters, two grandsons, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was a charter member of Rockland, Me., lodge B.P.O. Elks. The body will be taken to Rockland, Me., where funeral services will be held and burial will take place." -The Lowell (Massachusetts) Sun 23 January 1945
