He answered the call of the foot lights and was associated with now famous state stars in a stock company, where he was rapidly becoming a noted actor, but the traveling life of an actor grew wearisome and he returned to the practiceof law, being admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1892 and at the time of his death was the dean of the Lake County Bar Association in point of years of membership. He also served as president of the association.
