    Arnold and Ellen had 5 children before her death. Johanes Diederich was their first son.

    "Arnold was born at Hohenbetzdorf, but lived after his marriage at Budenholz, also in the Catholic parish of Kirchen. His name is found in the record as "Arnold", the standard German form; as "Noldt", the German diminutive and as "Arnoldus", the Latin form in the nominative case."
