Charles co., Maryland, United StatesAquila King of Charles County received a patent for a 72-acre tract called “Kings Purchase”. A special warrant of resurvey was granted to him on 30 Dec. 1797 to resurvey a 51-acre portion of the 120-acre tract called “Johnsons Purchase”, originally granted to Samuel Johnson on 20 March 1720. On 10 Jan. 1798, Theos. Hanson resurveyed the aforementioned land along with an additional 21-acre tract of vacant land; both were combined into a single tract.
Will for Aquila King. 8 Sep 1814 / 31 Oct 1814. “To wife Mary ... To my daughter Lusia King, ... To Mary Allen, wife of Joseph Allen, ... To John Allen who married my daughter Elenor, ... To my daughter Lucy Whom married Ransom Kendall ... To my son Reason King ...” Remainder of estate was “to be divided between my first wife's children (not identified).” Witnessed by Cha.
