Information on Anthony Ficklin
From "A Genealogical History of the Ficklin Family", by W.J. Kistler, pg. 38-9:
Anthony Ficklen, son of William (I) and Sarah Ficklin, was born in King George county, and resided at Poplar Settlement in Stafford county. about ten miles from Falmouth (Slaughter MS.). He married Elizabeth Bruce, daughter of Ch. Bruce of King George, whose wife is supposed to have been a Pannill (Virginia Hist. Mag., vol. 12, p. 452).t His name appears among the heads of families in the Virginia census of 1 785 (Stafford county) in which the following is noted concerning him: "Anthony Ficklen, white souls 4, dwellings I, other buildings 2." This is the last record of him. He died prior to 1810, since his name does not appear in the returns for Stafford county at that census. He mentions son, Charles, in deed signed by him, 1784. The names of his other children are taken from Slaughter MS:
- 20. Charles.
- 21. Benjamin.
- 22. Lewis.
- 23. Frances, who married a Duncan, and left no issue.
- 24. Elizabeth, who married a Stewart; their son and daughter went to Missouri.

- 26. Susan, who married a Bell and, after his death, went to Missouri with her family.
