"… Ann Huntington, … daughter of the first Christopher Huntington of Norwich, Conn., and his wife Ruth (Rockwell). She was born Oct 25, 1675, and died Aug. 20, 1756, thus surviving her husband. She appears to have been a pious and benevolent woman, a worthy companion of her husband. In her will, dated Jan. 21, 1755, she gives 'fifty Spanish milled dollars or an equivalent thereto, in passable bills of credit, to be committed into the hands of the Revd. Mr. Eleazer Wheelock, of Lebanon, to be by him disposed of and improved for the education of the youth of the Indian nations of this land; or in propagating religion & learning among them;' besides numerous other legacies to relatives. The above said bequest of Ann (Huntington) Bingham was first applied to Moor's Indian Charity School, then newly established by Mr. Wheelock. It is said to have formed, later, the nucleus of the funds establishing and endowing Dartmouth College."
