Most information I have come across lists Anna Shoffner's DOB as 1806 in Green County, KY, but there is an "Anna" listed in the Gaddie Bible as being born 6 Mar 1811. The 1806 date seems more realistic if she married Johnson Barves Gaddie in 1822. This would have made her 16 years old at her marriage, instead of 11 years old. The Gaddie Bible entry is so poorly written that it is possible it says 1806, rather than 1811.

On the 1880 Census, Anna (Shofner) Gaddie is listed as 'head of household', and her daughter, Anna Caroline Gaddie, is shown as living with her mother, as well as William, Lizzie and Anna Susan Osborn. Anna Sr. is listed as a 'farmer'.

The probate record, according to ddnan@@juno.com, says "The property of Annie Gaddie, lunatic, was appraised at $15.25". Dnan presumed that Annie probably had Alzheimers. This record may have not been a probate record, but perhaps Anna was being comitted and needed to have an appraisal done on her property. Her "personal representative" was listed as W.J. Underwood, who was probably William Underwood, her son-in-law.
