    Mrs. Anna Martin Lewis
Mrs. Anna Martin Lewis was born October 3, 1901, at Coal Hill, Ark.
She grew up in the parsonage home of her parents, Rev. and Mrs. W. T.
Martin. That atmosphere equipped her to do the very excellent work for
which she was noted in later life. She attended school wherever her father
was located, then went to Galloway College, finishing the work for A. B.
Degree in 1921, and for her degree in speech in 1922.

On June 17, 1923, she was married to Rev. H. M. Lewis, with whom
she shared the joys and sorrows of another parsonage home for 19 years.
To this union was born one child, a daughter, who proudly bears her
mother's name of Anna Martin Lewis. In addition to her husband and
daughter, her father and mother, three sisters, and two brothers also survive.

Mrs. Lewis was a faithful, conscientious, loyal, and exceedingly helpful
pastor's wife. Her interests included the whole range of church activities
but she was especially gifted in the field of dramatics and therefore enjoyed
the universal respect and love of young people. Her brilliant mind and
constructive spirit made her a welcome addition to any civic or church group.
She loved her home and family. Her wise counsel and sympathetic under-
standing of the affairs of the church enabled her to wield a powerful in-
fluence for good wherever she happened to be located.

Since we cannot fathom the mystery, we must wait the working out of
our Father's will, in happy reunion, before we can understand her sudden
    going on May 4, 1942.
    -H.M. Lewis, her husband
