Memorial for her brother and guardian
    John Hartman Dittemore FAG 22619893

There is proof that Jacob Nehs, born 1738, had a wife named "Anna Maria" as her name accompanies the baptisms of several of their children. Her birth date in 1743 seems to mesh well. Despite the fact her maiden name is invariably given as Dittamore, and her brother was John Hartman Dittemore, who died during the Rev.War at Camp West Point, NY. I did find that the land of Hartman Dittemore shared a boundary with Jacob Nehs in Bucks Co Pa and there were other Dittemores involved in several of their Pennsylvania documents. And Catherine Dittemore, Hartman's widow, was sponsor for one of their children's births. Finally I found that
John signed the marriage bonds as her guardian. He also signed a land transfer to "Zirkle", husband of my sister Anna Margaretha". An explanation of the spelling Dittamore. John Hartman had a son, John B. who used Dittamore. His line still uses that spelling today but..it is the only line that does.
