MRS. JOHN WILKE CALLED BY DEATH
Services Held Monday For One of Oldest Pioneers of County at Nashua
Nashua, Feb. 27th --- Mrs. Wilke died Friday morning at eleven o'clock at the Henry Wilke residence at Nashua following an illness of only a few weeks. Death was due to complications of flu which she contracted some time ago. She leaves to mourn her death two sons, Fred and Henry Wilke, Nashua and the following daughters, Mrs. W. C. Kaths, Tenney; Mrs. J.L. Roberts, Fairmount N. Dak.,; Mrs. Fred Miller, Wendell; Mrs. Herman Rogahrs, Tintah; Mrs. W.A. Kuehne, Burtram, Minn., and Mrs. Julia Miller, Long Prairie, Minn. Five other children died during infancy and one son passed away at the age 34. Forty-nine grandchildren and thirty great grand-children also survive the deceased.
Born in Sweden, September 25, 1851 Anna Marie Anderson came to America at the age of fourteen coming to St. Paul.
In 1872 she was united in marriage to John Wilke residing in St. Paul, until 1879 when they came to Wilkin County where she continued to make her home until her death.
Funeral Services were held at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon from St. Paul's Lutheran church, Rev. O. W. Rohde officiating. Interment was made at Riverside Cemetery. The pallbearers were six grandsons, Marvin Miller, August Wilke, Edwin Rogahr, Edwin Kuehne, Clarence Kath and Leonard Miller.
