Ann Gee's origins have yet to be established. Her first confirmed sighting is on 2nd May 1726 when she was married in the city of Lincoln to a miller called Joseph Ingram. They moved to Grantham shortly after their marriage, where Joseph had a watermill at Manthorpe, just north of the town. Ann and Joseph had a son, William, baptised at Grantham in 1727. Ann and Joseph had another son, also called Joseph, who was baptised on 4th June 1730 at Great Gonerby, just west of Manthorpe. However, it would appear that Ann died either giving birth or shortly afterwards, as she was buried at Great Gonerby on the same day that her son Joseph was baptised there. Ann's husband Joseph survived her by nearly 32 years and remarried in 1732. References
