A. J. Reynolds A. J. Reynolds Confederate Records A. J. Reynolds is the fourth child of eight for Sharp Spencer Reynolds and his wife, Nancy Bates. Andrew Jackson (Jack) was born August 4, 1942 in Hall County, Georgia. He married Mary Marietta Buffington on January 5th, 1863. He enlisted into the Confederacy on September 23,1861 in Spalding County, Georgia as a Private. He was in Company D, 27th Regiment Georgia Infantry. In December 1862 he was wounded in Richmond Virginia and was furloughed until September 17, 1862. He returned to his duties with his unit and was wounded again in the right thigh which was a fracture of femur caused by a blast from a cannon ball. He was admitted on August 19, 1864 in a field hospital, 1st Division 9th A. C. Virginia. His treatment of the thigh was amputated mid way of the femur. A. J. Reynolds died August 22, 1864 in Virginia. Andrew Jackson Reynolds and Mary Marietta Buffington had one known child James Henry Reynolds born 1879 in Jackson County, Georgia. Andrew Jackson Reynolds died February 9, 1900. It is not known if there is anymore children of this marriage. |
