Ambrose Armstrong was the son of John and Elizabeth (Meador) Armstrong, He witnessed his father's non-cupative will (about Jan 1749). He married his first cousin, Rachel Meador, daughter of Thomas Meador. They had at least two children, Rachel Armstrong and Thomas Armstrong. Thomas was the executor of his father's will (Essex County Court Order Book 27, p 175, 21 Nov 1768).
Ambrose apparently had a second wife, named Elizabeth, who was named in his will. His will also mentioned "five young children", but not by name, and with no indication whether their mother was Elizabeth or Rachel.
