Information about Abby and Alma Seaver were obtained from Daniel Herrick, who posted a message on the Seaver surname message board at http://genforum.genealogy.com.

He stated that Alma A. and Abby F. Seaver were adopted by neighbors whose family name was Clapp, and the girls adopted that name. The circumstances of the adoption are unclear; "the story" told by the family was that both parents died. However, an adoption paper in the Clapp family papers indicated that Elijah Seaver was the sole surviving parent, both of whom were adopted by the Clapps.

Daniel Herrick provided the spouse's name and children of Alma A. Seaver Calpp in the message.
