Allen Fox had a license to preach, so a class was formed and a church organized in 1845. He was responsible for the First Weslyan Church in Illinois.

In "Our Family Tree II" by Martha Cummings Bradley, it states "Allen Fox Jr. died of malaria about four years after he arrived in Illinois". Also, "Both Allen and his wife Sarah are buried in the Flora Cemetery near Irene, Illnois."

In a book entitled "FOX FAMILY" compiled by George Henry Fox, New York, N.Y., 1931-32, it states: "In after years (after their marriage) they (Allen and Sarah Drake Fox) moved to Ohio and in the fall of 1844 to Illinois where they purchased a piece of land in Boone County near what was known then as Brush Point. Their nearest produce market was a little town on Lake Michigan called Chicago, 70 miles distant.

Allen had a license to exhort, so a class was formed and a church organized in 1845. This was among the first Weslyan Churches in Illinois with Rev. Ammi Smith. Camp Meetings were held on the Fox campground."
