Will of Alexander Walker, written 13 Jan 1819, proven 5 July 1819.

In the name of God Amen I Alexander Walker of Madison County and State of Kentucky being weak of body but of perfect sound and disposing mind and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and declare this my last will and Testament hereby revoking and declaring null and void every other writing purporting to be my last will and Testament but this

First it is my will and desire that all my just debts be paid out of the money arising for the sale of my personal Estate

Item I bequeath to my beloved wife Jane Walker a note on William Barnett for ninety one dollares the said note the eighteenth of December next. I also bequeath to my beloved wife Jane Walker one negro woman named Milly formerly called Hetty to go to her sole use to dispose of as she thinks proper---Item I bequeath to my beloved wife the mansion house where I now live and one third of my plantation taking the whole value into view during her natural life-

Item I bequeath to my three beloved Nephews the following sums to be paid out of the money arising from my personal Estate, to wit, to my brother John Walkers son Alexander Walker twenty dollars Brother Philip Walkers son Alexander Walker twenty dollars Brother Charles Walkers son Alexander Walker twenty dollars

Item I bequeath to my Step Daughter Dayley Keep twenty dollars--It is my desire that all my Personal Estate and my negro woman Sarah be sold and the money arising therefrom to be divided one third to my Wife Jane Walker the other two thirds to my beloved Daughter Frankey James and her heirs forever

Item- it is my will and desire that if my beloved daughter Frankey James should die without issue or heir that the one half of my land shall go to the use of Jonathan James to dispose of as he thinks proper the other half to be divided between my brothers and sisters and their heirs forever

Item- It is my will and desire that my beloved daughter Frankey James shall have and keep my negro Boy George who was born the third day of September on thousand eight hundred and seventeen untill he becomes twenty five years of age also to learn him or cause him to be learned to read the Word of God if he in any wise will take to learning - and after he the said Negro boy George becomes twenty five years of age it is my will and desire that he George be set free and at liberty, it is my wish and desire that the Executors see that Justice be done the said boy George as above stated and have him not misused.

Item - It is my will and desire that if there should be any Estate comeing from my Father-in-law's Estate Arthur McClure Deceased that it shall go to the sole use and behoof of my beloved wife Jane Walker to dispose of as she thinks proper. I do by these presents Constitute and appoint my friends Willam Barnett and Jonathan James Executors of this my last will and Testament.

In Testimone whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Thirteent day of January one thousand eight hundred and nineteen.

NB It is my wish and desire that my wife Jane Walker shall keep the above named negro Milly or Hetty untill she thinks proper to sell her at public auction and when said negro is sold I desire my executors to put the money arising from the sale of her to interest and my wife Jane Walker to draw the Interest during her Natural life and at her death it is my desire that the principal left in the Executors hands shall go to the sole use of my beloved daughter Franky James and her heirs forever. I David ? Clerk of the Court for the County aforesaid do hereby certify that at a County Court held for Madison County on Monday the 5th day of July 1819 this Instrument of writing was produced in open Court and proven to be the last Will and testament of Alexander Walker Deceased by the Oath of Patrick Humphries and Willam Moore both Subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be Recorded.
