Facts and Events
During the American Revolution Alexander Kennedy was 38, served for 86 days in the South Carolina Militia during 1781 and 1782. He was a Private stationed at the Congarees. He also made saddles for the horseman in the S.C. Militia. He served as a Private under Col. Thomas Taylor, Capt. James Craig, Capt. John Miles, and Capt. William Robertson. They all certified his services. Alexander received payment for his militia service on January 21, 1790 totaling 1200 p o unds, 15 shillings and 5 pence. Apparently Alexander was not wounded in the war because he did not apply for a pension. References
