    Alexander Home, 1st Lord Home was born circa 1403.2 He was the son of Sir Alexander Home of Home and Dunglas and Janet Hay.1 He married, firstly, Marion Lauder, daughter of John Lauder and Katherine de Landells, before 1424.3 He married, secondly, Margaret Montgomerie, daughter of Alexander Montgomerie, 1st Lord Montgomerie and Margaret Boyd, before 14 July 1467.1 He died between February 1490 and April 1491.3
    In 1450 he founded the Collegiate Church of Dunbar.1 He held the office of Scottish Ambassador to England in 1459.1 He was created 1st Lord Home [Scotland] on 2 August 1473.3

    (Partial Extract) - Alexander Hogg, of Hogstoun, who, in the reign of James III. gave a charter of alienation to Sir Alexander Hume. He was founder of the House of Harcarse, in Berwickshire, from which sprung Sir Roger Hogg, Senator of the College of Justice, and also Rev. James Hogg, immediate ancestor of the Hogg's of the county of Roscommon.
    The Rev. James Hogg, Minister of South Leith, in 1656, suffered for his attachment to the House of Stewart. He married Mary Gordon.
