1921 through 1923: At some point during these years Albert Womble moved to Centralia, IL with his wife, Lou. It is believed that his younger sons, Benjamin and Paul moved with him. His oldest son, Joseph had gotten a job in Centralia working for the Illinois Central Railroad.

Return address shows Virginia writing to her from College in Bowling Green, KY. Knowledge of Virginia Womble’s life dates her years at college being between 1921 and 1925. It has been established by Centralia City Directories that Albert and Lou Womble were living on Maple St. in 1926.

Research has only proven to show that no member of the Womble family owned any property in Marion County, IL. Only that they did live, marry, and die there.

1927 - Eldest son, Joseph Womble is hit in the head with a baseball bat while managing an evening in-door baseball game at the YMCA on June 13. He dies in St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia of a skull fracture on June 15. He is buried at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia, IL.
