    Pg 1, 21 Feb 1940.

Following an illness of five days, Mrs. Agnes Olds Buckman, 75, widow of Harry C. Buckman, died at four o'clock yesterday morning at her home, 30 Main street.
A native of Ogdensburg, she was born May 21, 1861, a daughter of Carlos and Mary Russell Olds. She spent her early life in that city and a number of years ago married Mr. Buckman, who died in this village Feb. 26, 1936.
Mr. Buckman, with his brother, Zina B. Buckman, founded the Ogdensburg News which they operated for some time before disposing of it to Capt. Henry Holland. He later worked on the Ogdensburg Advance. The couple lived in Syracuse a short time before coming to Potsdam about a quarter of a century ago. Mr. Buckman was for 21 years foreman of the Courier & Freeman, ill health forcing his retirement in January, 1936.
Mrs. Buckman is survived by her daughter, Miss Phronia A. Buckman, who lives at home, and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Private funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the home by Rev. Dean E. Richardson, pastor of the Methodist church. Burial will be made in Ogdensburg in the spring.
