- ↑ Shortly after the start of the Civil War, he enlisted at age 18 as a Private in Company K, 17th New York Infantry, at Warsaw, NY, on 20 May 1861 for 2 yrs. PVT Mosher mustered into his unit on 24 May and in June went with his unit to Washington DC for duty in that city's defenses. In August, the 17th NY Infantry was assigned to the garrison force at Fort Ellsworth, Alexandria, VA. Sometime that month, PVT Mosher was sent to hospital after "losing his voice." He apparently remained in the hospital when his unit was sent to Hampton Roads, VA in March 1862 for the Peninsula Campaign. On 28 May 1862, PVT Mosher was discharged for disability in Washington, DC and sent back to NY. He married Susan soon after returning home and had a son, Lathan, in 1864.
- ↑ By 1870 he was living in Trumansburg, Tompkins Co., NY. (Wife) Susan apparently died during this time,
- ↑ Adelbert married Celia (b Apr 1847, NY) and lived wither her in Ulysses, Tompkins Co.
