"On 13 February 1722/3, Abigail Fellows and Sarah Fellows signified to the probate court their desire to have 'Cousin Jonathan Fellows' administer on the residual estate of 'our father William Fellows'; William Fellows is also called grandfather of Jonathan in the same document |EPR 3:130]. (Abigail Fellows and Sarah Fellows are apparently daughters of the immigrant William Fellows. If this is the case, Abigail must have chosen to use her maiden name in this instance, even though she had married Samuel Ayres nearly half a century earlier.)"
