Land Acquisition

Pgs. 13-14 This Indenture made this 8th day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & Ninety Between Thomas Garrett of Loudoun County & State of Virginia, Yeoman, of one part & Abel Garrett of the County & State aforesaid of other part; Witnesseth that Thomas Garrett in consideration of the sum of One hundred & Twenty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by Abel Garrett, by these presents doth bargain and sell unto Abel Garrett his heirs a certain tract of Land lying in County aforesaid, Beginning at two small white Oaks, extending thence N. 27 d E. 156 poles to two small black Oaks, thence S. 74d E. 110 poles to a small white Oak, thence So. 20d Wt. 58 poles to a small white Oak & red Oak in a bottom; thence S. 53 Wt. 136 poles to two small white Oaks, thence No. 53 Wt. to the beginning, containing One hundred acres, And all houses orchards profits and appurtenances; To have and to hold the One hundred acres aforesaid free and clear of and from all former and other gifts sales dower rights & title of dower troubles and Incumbrances whatsoever suffered by Thomas Garrett or any other person; And Thomas Garrett his heirs the hereby granted premises with their appurtenances also as much land over and above said Hundred acres as will be necessary for a Grist Mill & c., and shall warrant & forever defend by these presents;
In Witness whereof Thomas Garrett hath herunto set his hand and seal the day & year first above written Sealed & Delivered in presents of Stephen Rozell Thomas Garrett Samuel Dunkin, James Dunkin At a Court held for Loudoun County January the 11th 1790
This Indenture with the Memorandum of Livery & Seizen & the Receipt thereon endorsed was prived by oath of Stephen Rozell, Daml Dunkin & James Dunkin and ordered to be recorded
