  23. "Aaron Deller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Deller, of Columbiana county,Ohio, was born October 27, 1848, in Columbiana county, Ohio. He wasmarried to Miss Mary Magdaline Ritter November 1, 1868. To them wereborn six children, Mrs. Stella Ritter Moxley, Mrs. Laura Shaughniss,Mrs. Marth Myles, Mrs. Bertha Huffman, Howard A. and Lennie BelleDeller. The oldest and the youngest daughters, with his wife havepreceded him in death.
Mr. Deller was a member of the United Brethren church from childhoodand held to that faith all his life. He was a trustee of Mount ZionUnited Brethren church for many years. He leaves besides his sorrowingchildren, four grandchildren, Mrs. Zema Cheek, of Nevada, Mo.; Harold,Winton, and Phillip Huffman, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; threegreat-grandchildren, Mrs. Katherine Checck McArmond, of Independence,Kans.; Howard and Mable Cheek, of Nevada, Mo.; two half-brothers, I.D.and Thompson Deller, of Pleasant Lake, Ind.; and many other relativesand a host of friends.
For the last seven years he has made his home with Howard and his wife,Lola. They were both much devoted to him and did their utmost to makehim welcome and at home. Many times he spoke about the comfort andpleasure Howard and Lola gave him. His last days were dutifully andlovingly cared for by his children who were near and they were glad todo their very best for one who loved them and who had endeared himselfto them. He passed away at the home of Howard and Lola Wednesday night,Feb. 25, 1931, in his 82nd year.
While a resident of Angola he was an attendant at the MethodistEpiscopal church and a member of the men's Bible class. He loved thechurch of his manhood and was just as loyal and devoted to the Methodistchurch of Angola until a little deafness made it somewhat difficult forhim to follow the services.
Aaron Deller was much respected and esteemed by a large circle offriends and acquaintances. The story of the years is the story ofloyalty to home and family and church. He loved to work and many afamily in town had called for his sevices in various ways. He wasconscientious in a large degree and did not fail to express hisdisapproval of things he considered wrong or unwise. He was jealous ofhis jobs and wanted no interference with the tasks assigned him. He didfaithfully and well the work given him. Year after year he had beengiven his best work to the Angola District and the directors knew thathis oversight of things, grounds and buildings, would be properly caredfor and everything safely locked up.
He will be in many ways and for many reasons greatly missed, but hisyears were many, his days full. He had run the rece, fought the fightfinished the course and kept the faith. Henceforth, his is the crown ofglory.
The funeral was held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at theMethodist church with Rev. John Humfreys officiating, assisted by Rev.Thomas Dayles of the Methodist church and Rev. A.H. Sholty of the UnitedBrethren church of Pleasant Lake."
