The Old Augusta Project is a collaborative effort to show the migration of early settlers into the area that comprised early Augusta County, Virginia, from the 1730's until about 1800. This includes extensive documentation from early Orange County (the predecessor of Augusta County), Augusta (and other neighboring) County records and showing the exact locations of lands acquired by many of those early settlers (through the use of Lyman Chalkley's transcriptions of early Augusta County records, records in Orange and Frederick County, in addition to the J.R. Hildebrand Maps of the Beverley Patent and Borden Tract)
