Lest We Forget

This article is intended to be a reminder of a few of those that have fallen while serving their country in the military. These individuals are ones I have encountered during my research.

  • Private Gordon David Junop (1924-1944) - Gordon Junop and 6 other service members were killed instantly at Mount Bruno Military Camp, Quebec when a mortar round exploded prematurely in the barrel of a 3-inch mortar. Three others died of their wounds, seven were listed as "dangerously wounded" and eight were "seriously wounded" and another 20 were wounded.
  • Private Douglas Walter Moffat (1891-1916) - His CEF Burial Registration notes "Previously unofficially reported Died of Wounds Whilst Prisoner of War, now for official purposes presumed to have Died of Wounds at Kriegsgefangenen Stamnlager Wahn"
