West Virginia Vital Records: Marriage bond of Samuel Clark and (Mary) Polly Campbell.

"Know all men by these presents that we Samuel Clark and James Campbell are held and firmly bound unto John Page, Esq., Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and his Successors in the Sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars with Condition that there is no lawful cause to Obstruct a marriage intended to be Solemnized between the said Samuel Clark and Polley Campbell of this County then the above Obligation to be void or else to Remain in full Force & Virtue -- witness our hands & Seals this 21st day of January 1805.
