In the 1930 census for Precinct 51 of Jefferson County (taken April 22), the following people were all living in the same neighborhood:

Family 139 on Hueytown Road-- Papa Lee's parents Jessie N Hallmon and wife Mary M (Mariah Goodwin), both age 59, and son W Fred, age 16. Also living in the same household: Myrtle (Hallmon), age 25, and her husband Houston L Clark. And a boarder named Arthur J. Saulter, age 18.

Family 140 on Hueytown Road-- Addie (Roper), age 31, her husband Horace C Worthy, age 33, and their sons Horace C, age 8, and Royce M.Worthy, age 1y6m.

Family 141 on Virginia Mines Road-- John T. Roper, age 26; his wife Ethel, age 32; and their son John T, age 1y11m.

Family 142 on Virginia Mines Road-- Ruthie's father Harmon Smith Roper, age 68; his 3rd wife Vonie, age 45; and 3 of their children: Loretta L (later married to and divorced from Clinton Ware's brother Woodrow), age 13; Thomas J, age 10; and Pauline or Polly (later Swearengin), age 7.

Family 149 on Virginia Mines Road-- Lee's sister Ella Pearl (Hallmon), age 26, and her husband Wm Rush Parker, age 30(?), and 3 of their children: Lorene, age 7; Frances, age 6; and James, age 2+.
