Family talk:Henry Kloosterhouse and Margaret Emaus (1)

Kloosterhouse/Kloosterhuis [22 March 2014]

The father of Henry Kloosterhouse (Kloosterhuis in the Netherlands) migrated from Groningen, Netherlands. I'll add more information later today and tomorrow to this family page. I specialize in researching Dutch immigrants from Northern Netherlands (Friesland, Groningen, and Drenthe) - so these names caught my eye :) --Jennifer (JBS66) 19:07, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

Thank you. Love how this works. Your response was so fast I wondered how you saw it. No hurry. I will let his family know that more information has been added.--Diane Hosler 03:03, 12 March 2014 (UTC)

This was a challenge - but I've now connected both Henry and Margaret to their parents/ancestors. What made things interesting is that in Henry's mother's line (Vredeveld), two brothers Barteld and Hendrik married two sisters Aaltjen Tijms Tingen 1805 and Aaltjen Tijms Tingen 1799. Both sisters were baptized with the same given name. Furthermore, many of the children of Barteld and Hendrik shared the same name (Geesjen, Lammigje, Hendrik, Tijm, Aaltje) and both families migrated to Michigan. One source of particular confusion in online trees is Lammichje Bartelds Vredeveld and Lammigje Hendriks Vredeveld, Lammigje Hendriks is the one that married into the Kloosterhuis family.
Well, this takes you back a few more generations. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! --Jennifer (JBS66) 16:52, 13 March 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for all you did with this family! I smiled about the confusing names etc. I have that with my German ancestors too, changing names etc. Will look for obituaries. Diane Hosler--Diane Hosler 19:30, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
