Family talk:Andrew Duncan and Janet Unknown (1)

Connection? [20 February 2009]

There are two Duncan Dunkin families in SW VA. I've done enough sorting through the data to know that they are (nominally) unrelated. I would like to figure out if there is a connection between Andrew and these Duncan's/Dunkin. Since Andrew lived and died in Augusta County, any connection would seem to be through his children. It looks like daughter Jennet married into the Edmiston family, and presumably ended up in SW VA. But did any of her brothers move down here? Q 16:25, 20 February 2009 (EST)

Hi Q, I haven't had time to enter the children's marriages yet (I'll have to see how much information I have on her siblings), I'll see if I can get to it this weekend, then you can check and see if something needs to be combined with that other information you referenced.

One of the articles is at Person:John Dunkin (2). This article was done fairly early on, before I'd formalized the layout of articles in the SWVP. So it doesn't exactly match up with the Edmiston articles.---Still the foundation is there, and there's a section on disambiguation that points to other John Duncan's in the area. Given time, date, and place within Southwest Virginia, I'm betting that JAndrew is related to John Dunkin (2) but I don't really know enough at this point to reach even a tentative conclusion. Glad that this is something that might fit in with your own interests. At the moment Don and I are looking a bit at some of the data he's gotten concerning the Edmiston's in Cecil County.
