1850 Census

In 1850, William (age 54) and Sarah (age 50) Jackson live in Wiscasset, Lincoln, Maine. William is a farmer, and has an estate valued at $150. He was born in Maine. Four others (assumed to be their children) live in the household: Hartley Jackson, 22, a fisherman; George Jackson, 20; Sarah Jackson, 17; and James Jackson, 15. None are noted as attending school and all are born in Maine. There is another Jackson family nearby, William 2nd, age 42, a farmer, who is married to Eliza H, 41. They have (presumed) children Bradbury B Jackson, 19, a seaman; Samuel Jackson, 17; Benjamin Jackson, 14; William C Jackson, 8; and Cyrus Jackson, 6. The last four are attending school. William 2nd is too old to be William and Sarah's son; perhaps he is a cousin?
