- ↑ It would be reasonable to assume Mary's death in 1677 from her first attempt at childbirth. As Thomas was born 1654, the marriage was not likely before 1675 if he was of legal age. But note that this marriage is not accepted by the Edmund Rice Association. It appears to be based on a bookkeeping error by Source:Ward, Andrew Henshaw. Genealogical History of the Rice Family : Descendants of Deacon Edmund Rice, Who Came from Barkhamstead, England and Settled at, who on p. 23, mistranscribed the death of Mary, wife of Joseph, as Mary, wife of Thomas. This did not prevent him from applying it to the correct person on p. 9.
