  4. Source:Pierce, Frederic Beech. Pierce Genealogy, Being the Record of the Posterity of Thomas Pierce, p. 37, adds a son John, b. 10 Feb 1704, but this appears to be an error. The copy of Barbour records for Plainfield, p. 99, shows the birth of a John on 10 Feb 1723, but no John born 1704. It appears to be some sort of confusion for the grandson John born to the son Thomas and his wife Mary Parkhurst on 10 Feb 1723/4 (see p. 50 of Pierce) as suggested by the coincidence of 10 Feb in both births.
