Thomas and "Kat." Petty appeared in court 3 Apr 1700 regarding the estate of Hubert Patey. On 6 Mar 1700/01, Thomas and Katerine Petty joined lawsuit with mother Martha Garton over estate of father John Garton. On 6 Apr 1721, Thomas and Catherine Petty and Ruth (Garton) Boyd applied for administration of estate of their brother John Garton, and on 5 Apr 1722, these same parties initiated a lawsuit over their father John Garton's estate

  2.   Many websites show a "E. P. Petty" in this family. There is no such person listed in Thomas' will even though E. P. was alleged to have lived until 1804. All such websites appear to have gotten their data from a single AFN GC6J-MB which contains significant amounts of self-contradictory data, such as overlapping marriages, assigning E.P. the same wife as his brother James, and a second wife name Elijah (a man's name)! Of course, no useful sources are found on the websites showing E. P. Petty in this family, and so he appears to be a completely erroneous personage.
