I want to thank you for taking the time to respond to my posting. I would greatly appreciate knowing more about the family.
What I seemed to be confused over is the census and family histories on the web that suggest John W. SHORES middle initial wasn't W but K. Why the K?
My link to the family is through John SHORES who married Charlotte WEBSTER who's daughter was Biddy Anne. Biddy Anne married Hiram Tankersley who's daughter Fannie Ella TANKERSLEY married Thomas Henry GIBSON who was my ggrandfather .
Many years ago my mother,cousin and myself visited Deal Island where the Tankersley had lived. I had no idea just how many WEBSTER's and SHORES had lived in the immediate areas.
