Disputed Lineages

New UNPROVEN theory regarding this Stephen Parish.

This extensive, and extended Parish family did love to use, and then reuse the same first names. There are quite a few Isaac's, Stephen's, Jasper's, etc.

Taking most of the living children's 1880 Federal census information in to account, most answered that their father was born in Vermont. That is possible because some of Zebulon Parish & Hannah Kimball sons did go to Vermont. That could make this Stephen Parish a possible grandson of Zebulon Parish and Hannah Kimball possibly born about 1770 in Vermont. That would make him roughly the same age as his wife Lena. It also looks like most of this Stephen Parish's children were born in the Milford, PA - Palmyra, PA area.

According to daughter Ellen Parish's death certificate she is a daughter of Lena and was born after their arrival in Ontario County (Monroe County), New York. It is possible that this Stephen Parish married an Eleanor, after his daughter Ellen Parish was born or that Lena used the English name Eleanor.

Sources being added by hand for now:

Most of this new information (sources) does agree with the Parish Book.

Thanks to my father's cooperation (he is also a WeRelate member) I will now enter into the GEDCOM the new information. It will take some time to enter most of this new information. When completed I will upload it under my father's User account with his permission. I will then merge the file.

If anyone would like further details please leave a message on my WeRelate User Talk page. Debbie Freeman
