  4. 4.0 4.1 Since his daughter was marrying a clergyman, it is likely that the marriage was performed at Northampton, by her father. The Northampton VR, while not specifying who officiated, is closest to the actual event. The Farmington entry must have been made later and the facts somehow garbled in the transmission. The 19 March 1708/09 is most consistent with the birth of their first child, Elnathan, recorded in the Farmington VR [on a different page of the Land Records] as occurring 12 January 1708/09.
